Conus Magus Linnaeus, a cone snail with some of the most intriguing natural markings in the ocean. With that beauty comes a dangerous conotoxin, do not handle these snails as they are one of the deadliest animals in the world. Making it harder to distinguish the species, they embrace a large synonymy. Two side by side look completely different in pattern, the snail has the ability to write its own unique pigmentation code.

This print was made using a relief printing process with a hand-carved lino block and oil-based metallic gold pigment. It is a warm brassy gold. Hand printed on Sand cotton paper.
